In partnership with the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet), your public library is pleased to help veterans and their families. Visit the Veteran Resource Center at a participating public library, to learn about state and federal education, employment, housing, health, disability and other benefits that may be available to you and your family.

The special focus of this project is to provide information to reintegrate California veterans into the California workforce and our communities in order to provide veterans the quality of life of other Americans.

The goals for this project are to:

  1. Provide veteran benefits and local service information to veterans and family members, and links to other organizations serving veterans especially local County Veteran Service Offices, CalVet and the Federal VA.
  2. Increase California veteran benefit claims.
  3. Connect veterans and their families to library resources.

In order to meet these goals, participating libraries provide Veteran Resource Centers with regular open hours and staffed by trained volunteers, collections of books and other resources for veterans, websites with links to local veterans resources, and access to computer equipment for extended periods in order to complete online applications and do research.
